The Families with Children from South Africa network is for families who are in the homestudy process, waiting for a referral or have already adopted in Canada.
We have new geographic network branches in Western Canada, Atlantic Canada and the main group in Ontario.
The network meets 10-13 times a year (at different geographic locations around Canada), but also encourages informal gatherings, coordinates attendance at African events and regular playdates among the children. Upcoming Events:
Families with Children from South Africa will be celebrating South African Freedom Day with our third annual Mahata Mmoho III (Stepping Together) event on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:30 pm in Toronto.
This event will feature South African traditional and modern dance performances, a gumboot dance workshop for the kids, crafts, vendors, and fun!
RETREAT: Our families will be going away again together at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls the weekend of November 18-19, 2011.
The network will be hosting our annual Birth Mother Vigil on Saturday, May 7, 2011 to honour and remember our children's birth mothers. (Location TBA)
